“What is most important in this time?” You asked.
“Obedience?” I offered.
You nodded. “Indeed. Obedience is key. In fact it IS the key for this season. Without it you’ll flounder in this sea of circumstances and pressing issues. Your way THROUGH this is in obedience. There is a risk that you’ll flounder and remain stagnated without locking in to obedience in trust in Me. Do you want this?”
“No way.” I shook my head. “I feel as though I’ve been floundering and barely floating as is. I don’t know my way through this but do know that outside of incredible grace given by You, I can’t make it through all these things correctly or well. There’s too much, and I haven’t delineated clearly what I am and I’m not called to in this hour – I’ve just tried to do all of it.” I confessed.
You smiled, a smile rich in Love and mercy. “Son, I know,” You acknowledged as You put Your hand gently on my shoulder. “I know you can’t do all this, nor have I designed you to. I designed you to Love Me and follow Me.
“I expect nothing more than what I’ve put in you and called you into. Anything else is at most a distraction and discouragement. At least, it is an annoyance and impurity in your devotion to Me.
“You’ll need to embrace who I have made you to be and called you into – nothing more. Not who man expects you to be or tells you you need to be. That’s not My expectation for you. It’s from the evil one when it distracts you from My Purpose, especially when you feel condemned or inadequate.
“Son, you ARE inadequate at what I’ve not called or empowered you to be. Period. Trying to ‘grow in it’ under compulsion or sense of ‘responsibility’ is foolish.”
“So, what am I calling you to? What does obedience look like in this time period? What have I clearly laid out and expected? Write it out.” You directed, with a twinkle in Your eyes 🙂
